That tent was the dwelling place of God in the wilderness. But it represents to us as Christians where we actually live with God as our Father. We live in the spiritual reality of that tabernacle with Him. What an awesome place to live!
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in the appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus. Every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11).
W ithin this one scripture, we have the four layers of the tent covering represented. Jesus took “the form of a bond servant” and was made in the likeness of men; this was represented in the badger skin cover. He was obedient to the point of death,” which was represented in the rams’ skin dyed red. “Even death on the cross,” when Jesus hung on the cross and “became sin for us,” this was represented by the layer of goat hair. “Every knee will bow” represents the fine linen inner part with all the beautiful colors and angels exalting Jesus Christ.
